On July 26th, Amy’s Treat celebrated its 2nd annual Respites with Rina at Prescott Park by treating more than 125 patients, their families, friends and caregivers to a nicely attended showing of Willy Wonka. All gathered under threatening skies (which kept many of the 260 registered participants at home) to take in Roald Dahl’s timeless story of the world-famous candy man and his quest to find an heir in this wonderfully staged musical adaptation of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

To aid in getting patients to the park, Amy’s Treat rented trolleys to transport people back and forth from the Cancer Center while others came on their own. Each participant was given Amy’s Treat dollars to enjoy the concessions as well as Lindt Chocolate Bars to search for their own “Golden Ticket.”

Special thanks to Board Member Michael Meserve and our friends at Prescott Park and Seacoast Trolley.
